Just wondering if there was ever any interest in holding any tournaments from different landings on various parts of the lake? Its a big body of water why not mix it up a bit?

well, we need some boys who fish on the lake a lot. Which location based on your knowledge of where the fish are, would you hold a tournament. hmm. For me, I would think somewhere near the dam. ?? any other thoughts!?

There are quite a few options from mid lake all the way up into nutbush. There are fish all over the lake and most cat people have slow boats. It would help make things more interesting.

if possible, please name a ramp. You would recommend one of our Catfish tournaments running from. I am more than glad to consider it. But, what is your ideas on this.?

Ivy Hill or Eagle Point would not be bad choices in support of keeping them open? But the majority of ramps should be sufficient?

Ramps

Postby ShadHawg » August 1st, 2007, 6:33 pm

Like Warren, John, and hoghead would say, "It's a family tradition." Staunton view boat ramp has always (except for one of the tournaments in 2003) been the choice for 3 main reasons; a)the location of the ramp in conjunction with the rivers, b) nearby are the majority of most tournament catfishermen, and c) nearby Weston's Grocery. The larger cats stay up in the rivers during the first three tournaments, then coast around the main lake during August. Another reason why Staunton Ramp is choice location, as long as the oxygen level and weather supports the catfish in late summer pattern, the shallows are the prime feeding area at night.
