Hi !firstname,

Welcome and thank you for subscribing to The Catfish Showdown Newsletter. Wow - it's been a great season so far, and we really look forward to the last catfish tournament on Saturday, August 18th.

Being this is the last showdown tournament of the year, help spread the word so others can come out and enjoy the fun. The weather is going to be great and we'll have plenty of food to go around, along with the fellowship among our brotherhood of catfishermen, lady anglers, and our junior anglers. I can't say enough about these fine young boys and girls, young women and men coming out to show their support for such a superior sporting event.

These guys and gals show, they too, can catch trophy catfish. Everyone who fish our tournaments, and all The Catfish Showdown Team wishes to congratulate all winners and everyone involved for teaching our young anglers how to land these big fish, and release them for future generations to come.

See you Saturday 18th at the scales!

5.Catfish Tips

The last tournament is going to be a challenge with the lower water level at Kerr/Buggs Island Lake. It isn't at the lowest point like last year's tournament, but it still raises question whether the BIG fish will
be in the rivers, or the lake. The latest report on the larger flatheads state the hotter temperatures have driven them into the lake.

While this may be true to some degree, the larger blues and flatheads are being spotted in the cooler current of the rivers, dumping right into the lake. You know what this means don't you?

That's right, don't get too far out of sight of the boat ramp during the tournament. The oxygen level is satisfying the larger cats in these river channels at around 8-12 feet deep. While a lot of anglers are having luck in deeper waters (around 15-25 feet deep), the larger
catfish are staying close to this cooler currents in the mouth of both rivers.
